a little about me...

.I’ve been called an overcomer. Maybe so, but I
think we all are in one way or another and I for
one wouldn’t change my past because it has led
me to who and where I am today. More on that
below in, “The Journey”.
As a Voice Actor working out of a broadcast
quality home studio, I deliver voiceovers that
consistently meet expectations and my
experience as a stage performing ventriloquist
has sharpened my ability to get into character
quickly.
I’m at home behind the mic in my studio or on
location and while my overall style is laid back
and approachable, I put the level of energy
needed into every read whether it’s giving depth
and warmth to a documentary, putting boldness
into an over-the-top commercial, showing
expertise in an e-learning module, or instilling
life into an animated character.

The Journey
I was born surrounded by doctors ready to replace all my blood. They also predicted I’d be mentally challenged to a certain degree and doubted I’d ever walk. Well, I kept all my blood, the jury is still out on the whole mental thing, and I grew up running everywhere.
Have you ever heard of Elhers-Danlos Syndrome? Not fun. Imagine your Dad is the little league coach, but you can’t play because throwing a ball in from the outfield could remove your arm from the socket. Been there, done that. I hated feeling like a wuss so I worked out, ran, danced, threw away notes from home excusing me from gym class, got into tennis, volleyball, yoga, and fights.
Following High School I joined the Army and then it was off to college majoring in Business Management with a Public Speaking minor where I traveled with a karate team, competed in volleyball, and taught myself ventriloquism; a skill that took me across the U.S. and beyond traveling with various teams.
During college I also started, ran, and sold my first commercial cleaning company before being recruited as the Assistant Director of Environmental Services for large hospital system. A corporate downsizing led me to start another company which I ran for over 20 years, but a chance encounter with a voiceover ad changed everything.
Hooked from the start, I trained and continue to work with the Global Voice Acting Academy, built a broadcast quality home studio, and launched, Script To Life Voiceovers, LLC. Alongside this I managed the facilities of a private school before going part time so as to devote full time to my voice over endeavors.
PS: As a young adult while home for a visit, I was invited to play ball on my Dad’s church team. He was pitching, I played first base, and together we executed a beautiful double play.
